Martha teaches three 2-day seminars for 1/3 of what the traditional seminars would cost. She will be filming the courses so that she can make elocution available to a more broad audience. This will provide additional time to work with individuals and communities as they implement and tailor the material to their unique circumstances.

As a mother of 5, she will be able to offer this service 5 times. The people in the 5 communities that choose to host pilot this type of service will enjoy a close relationship with Martha and her family as they use elocution to help transform their communities.

Thomas Sheridan said, “Before you can persuade a man into any opinion, he must first be convinced that you believe it yourself. This he can never be, unless the tones of voice in which you speak come from the heart, accompanied by corresponding looks, and gestures, which naturally result from a man who speaks in earnest.”  This is the essence of Elocution 360°. We seek to teach people how to speak transformationally from their heart in whatever setting, inspiring the people around them who matter most. Elocution 360° exists to help people learn the inspire language.

As elocution continues to have impact, it will not only help the individual but will also increase the renewal of the family and by extension the community. What does that mean? Elocution 360° teaches you how to create a culture of speaking and performing in your family and community. Elocution, along with the other arts, is a process of becoming, which means that by participating in it you become more than you were previously. We want to see elocution affecting every community.

In today’s modern society we outsource most of our entertainment, we hardly live as communities because we scarcely know our neighbors. This fragmenting may seem unimportant on the surface but it contributes to the problems we see all around us. Elocution is part of healing a community; it provides unity, renewal and depth of culture. When Elocution 360° is in a community, it means that community has started on a long-term track of healing itself from the inside out.

How would your life be different if you could communicate like the great men and women in history? To speak or not to speak that is not the question. We all speak, whether to children, friends, in businesses or in church. The question is how effective and inspiring will that speaking be?

Elocution 360° is part of the Stori Foundation, an organization that is making its debut this year. Stori Foundation helps people transform their communities by helping them better tell their story and optimize relationships in business, education, family, government and religion. Help us take this to the world by becoming one of the first communities to begin this transformation.

About Elocution 360°
Elocution 360° has been going strong for over three years now. It began with a distance course; over 100 people participated from all over America. Several on-location classes were also taught and the next year brought many opportunities to teach and speak to small and large groups about the art of elocution. Courses have since developed into a 30 lesson course and a beautiful experience in learning how to speak and render life more fully.

“Just over cost” seminars
To launch Elocution 360°, the organization’s principle founder Martha Levie will be offering seminars on a “just over cost basis”. She’ll be traveling to 5 host communities to teach her 30 lesson “Rendering Greatness” course. These first in-person seminars will allow her to film the course and begin an ongoing relationship with the five communities as they use the lesson material.

One time only
Martha Levie is the mother of five wonderful children and will not be able to travel like this on a long-term basis. So the initial host communities will enjoy a special relationship with her and her family. After this initial launch she will teach her local community in-person and continue to work with distant communities via new internet tools. To learn more about becoming one of the 5 initial communities e-mail martha@johnandabigail.com.

Wait a minute; what is elocution? And how can a person suggest that it come before food production, defense, crime, fixing government or even education?

Well to answer the first question, a narrow definition of elocution is the skill of speaking in which vocal production and gesture are emphasized. A more broad definition would encompass the source of elocution as tapping or exploring the depth of the human spirit and then our ability to communicate ‘who we are’ with others.

Taken one step further our proficiency in elocution encompasses our ability to move others, it is in essence the language of inspiration. As we join in expressive performance through our natural associations and local communities, elocution establishes the very common ground with which we can associate and unite as people.

This unity provides the fabric and foundation of social interaction including government and trade. We begin our “social contract” and “basic exchange of goods and services” as we feel the need to help each other and thereby ascend to greater heights in the happiness and comforts of life. This united association describes the essence of society.

Does society need to be fixed? Is society broken or sick? These questions may seem redundant and a grossly understated inquiry. Do we have a fever, high blood sugar or are we terminally ill? If we were to take the metaphoric temperature of society to see if the sickness is a bad one, how would we do it?

As we have sort-of assumed that elocution is an important factor, let’s narrow the question to elocution; where is our society at on the elocution scale? Do we have common language? Do we each express ourselves with clarity, with depth of character? Are we understood? Do we enjoy each other’s unique interpretation or rendering of our common stories? How united are our neighborhoods, our families, our friends?

These may be just the questions we must be asked as a people and as a society. Are we capable of asking them? Are the normally high-ranking problems symptoms of something deeper? This little article is not intended to have all of the answers, nor it intended to speak with authoritative expertise, it simply suggests that elocution may be a good place to start in making a difference and hints that there may be a critical need we have overlooked worthy of some exploration. Where do you stand?

Patrick Henry, Lincoln, Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and Reagan were not powerful speakers by accident, they mastered and applied the art of elocution.

As influential as these men were, perhaps the greatest impact can be made in our homes and communities.

Elocution 360° provides you with the tools to begin to speak transformationally, impacting the people that matter the most.
